YOU ARE INVITED TO THE BEETHOVEN BIRTHDAY BASH WITH THE AMERIGO TRIO on March 8!

The Amigo Trio featuring former NY Philharmonic Concert Master Glenn Dicterow and the Westchester Chamber Music Society will celebrate Beethoven’s 250th Birthday with an all-Beethoven Program and post-Concert Wine & Cheese Reception

Former New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow formed the Amerigo Trio with violist Karen Dreyfus and cellist Inbal Segev.  The Amerigo Trio and Westchester Chamber Music Society will celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday with an all-Beethoven program followed by a Wine & Cheese Reception on Sunday, March 8th, at 4:00 pm in Rye.

The program will feature the Beethoven Serenade in D major, Op. 8, the Beethoven Eyeglass Duo for viola and cello in E-flat major, and the Beethoven String Trio in C minor Op. 9, No. 3.

The Amerigo is one of the most recent major string trios to emerge in the world of chamber music, and they have been invited to play at some of the most prestigious concert series in the United States.  The Amerigo Trio is named after Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian Explorer.  The trio is committed to the exploration of the riches of the string trio repertoire, both new and old.

Reserve your seat now to attend this special performance by internationally celebrated artists and meet Glenn Dicterow, Karen Dreyfus and Inbal Segev of the Amerigo Trio at the post-concert Wine & Cheese Reception.

About WCMS

The Westchester Chamber Music Society is celebrating its 69th anniversary during the 2019-2020 season. Led by co-presidents Dr. Caroline Bauman and Shelley Lotter, The Westchester Chamber Music Society has been bringing first-rate artists to Westchester, including the renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma; the Amerigo Trio, with violinist Glenn Dicterow; the Emerson, Brentano, and Kalichstein ensembles; and award-winning young talent, including the Dover String Quartet.

WCMS presents five concerts each year on Sunday afternoons at 4pm at Congregation Emanuel-El of Westchester on Westchester Avenue in Rye, just east of Kenilworth Road. The performance space is conveniently located minutes from The Cross-Westchester (Route 287) near Exit 9, and there is plenty of convenient, accessible, free parking at the venue.

Internationally celebrated ensembles enjoy performing at the society’s concerts for the same reasons that subscribers like to attend. The acoustics are outstanding, the audiences are knowledgeable, and both performers and audiences welcome the opportunity to meet each other and the musicians at the reception after each concert. Audience members like being close to the musicians in the semi-circular open seating area. They also appreciate the original, detailed program notes.
